Current Research into Human Pheromones

Miami University

The Human Nature Team at Miami University is seeking approval for a research project aimed at addressing what attracts women to different types of men. They hope to uncover the mechanisms behind visual attraction and also test women's' responses to attractiveness of men during different stages of their menstrual cycle. They also want to confirm the influence that human pheromones levels have on mate selection, and how big that influence of human pheromones is when given other factors in the 'attraction' mix, such as good looks, financial security and intelligence.

University of Chicago

Martha McClintock, Professor and Director of the Institute of Mind and Biology, at the University of Chicago has a long history of research into the interaction between behavior and reproductive endocrinology, including the function of human pheromones. Her current research interests are:-
